The students of the 24th Primary school of Thessaloniki, created works of art in the style of the painter.

1. They created collaborative collages with butterflies. They used paper, markers and colourful pencils. The children made their own butterfles, they cut them and they stuck them on large pieces of paper on the wall:

6. Cross- thematic approach:

Teaching English in the 4th grade, Akrithakis butterflies were linked with a fairytale and 'still life' by Picasso:
The fairytale The very hungry caterpillar by Eric Carle, was chosen to make students familiar with vocabulary concerning food. It is about a caterpillar which eats various kinds of food and finally becomes a butterfly.
After this lesson, the children created a collaborative collage with butterflies, studying the Greek painter Akrithakis and collages with fruit, studying still life by Picasso.

8. A large collaborative painting of the 'flying suitcase' on canvas was created by the students of 5th grade:
The painting was projected on canvas with the use of an overhead projector and the first sketches were made.
The canvas was divided in parts for each group by vertical lines.
Using acryllic colours the children painted parts of the painting.
Finally, the symbols were highlighted with the use of a black marker.
